The firm pursues its geographic diversification plan across Canada
MONT-SAINT-HILAIRE, QC, Feb. 2 /CNW Telbec/ - BBA, a Canadian multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm, is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Labrador City, in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. BBA has been active for over 20 years in this area; BBA's permanent office in Labrador City consolidates the firm's presence among its clients in Quebec's Caniapiscau MRC and in Labrador. BBA thus pursues the geographic deployment strategy it launched in September 2009 with the opening of its Vancouver office.
BBA's team of engineers and technicians will maintain an ideal local point of contact for the firm's many clients operating in this area, notably Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC), ArcelorMittal, Consolidated Thompson and Wabush Mines.
"The opening of the Labrador City office extends our presence and service quality among mining sector clients we've been servicing for over 20 years. The North has abundant vital resources, and our permanent establishment in the area reflects our determination to help our clients in the economic and sustainable development of those resources," declared BBA President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Steeve Fiset.
BBA has already built a solid record in the Labrador area, where it has carried out several major projects. Some of its achievements involved engineering mandates for an iron ore concentrator, technical feasibility studies, modernization of electrical installations, and modernization of a residue pumping system.
BBA has grown substantially over the past decade. It ranks among Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies according to a selection made by the firm Deloitte and CIBC. In 2008, BBA also won first prize in the medium-sized business category in the Défi Meilleurs Employeurs contest organized by the firm Watson Wyatt.
