144 MBA students from around the world compete
at the John Molson School of Business
MONTREAL, Dec. 21 /CNW Telbec/ - Thirty-six renowned universities from around the globe are sending their top MBA students to Montreal's Fairmont the Queen Elizabeth Hotel (900 Rene-Levesque Blvd West) from January 4-9, 2010, to compete in the John Molson MBA International Case Competition, the world's oldest and largest MBA case competition.
Imagine a boardroom like the one from Donald Trumps' The Apprentice TV show but with four exceptional MBA candidates, whose minds are filled with budding concepts, theories and their own business experience. Locked in a room with no computers or coaches, they have three hours to read a complex business case study, analyze, resolve and prepare a professional 25 minutes presentation on overhead acetates which they will then deliver to a panel of 5 international business executives who will judge their presentations on the merit and feasibility of the proposed solutions.
This week-long competition, referred to by past participants as the "Olympics of MBA Case Competitions", enhances international exchanges among the academic and business communities while enriching the traditional classroom MBA learning experience.
The nine Concordia MBA students forming the 2010 organizing team had to surmount today's emerging global challenges to make sure that the 2010 competition is an unforgettable experience for all of its stakeholders. Today's economic turmoil has taught them that with every cloud comes a silver lining. Facing the aforementioned challenges head-on, the organizing team put theory into practice by focusing on sustainability, emerging technologies and developing new revenue streams.
This non-profit event would not be possible without the generous contributions and the support of the Montreal business community.
THE EVENT IS OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
