TORONTO, Sept. 29 /CNW/ - AUX delivers the Canadian TV premiere of Radiohead: From the Basement during its official television debut October 1st on Rogers Cable channel 107. Viewers are invited to watch Canadian music television history in the making as AUX launches a programming slate packed full of music and music culture.

AUX music television kicks off this Thursday at 9 p.m. EST with an exclusive half hour launch special. This irreverent half-hour features a look behind the scenes and gives viewers a glimpse at what's to come on AUX this season. At 9:30 p.m. EST there's a special preview edition of the new original series, AUX Live, which highlights acts like K'naan and The Stills performing live and thrilling fans.

Radiohead: From the Basement airs at 10 p.m. EST. This hour-long concert spectacle captures Radiohead performing tracks off their latest studio effort - In Rainbows - along with other fan favourites from some of the band's previously released albums. Radiohead's performance was recorded live to tape from the home basement studio of acclaimed music producer and sound engineer, Nigel Godrich.

"When viewers tune in to AUX they get groundbreaking music from a full spectrum of artists including established acts like Radiohead, Billy Talent, and Alexisonfire, and rising gems like Grand Analog, Ohbijou, and Still Life Still," said Raja Khanna, Co-CEO of GlassBOX Television and Founder & President of AUX. "Our roster of launch weekend programming sets the tone for everything to come."

AUX complements its TV launch lineup with even more music programming, including the two-hour feature film, Dead Man, airing Saturday, October 3 at 9 p.m. EST. Johnny Depp and Iggy Pop star in this 1995 cult classic about an accountant who embarks on a bloody journey through a twisted version of the American Old West. The film features original music by Neil Young and appearances by Billy Bob Thornton, indie stalwart Crispin Glover, and Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes. It is written and directed by Jim Jarmusch.

Kurt Cobain About a Son broadcasts Sunday, October 4 at 9 p.m. EST. This two-hour documentary features audio of acclaimed music journalist Michael Azerrad interviewing Kurt Cobain for Azerrad's biography Come as You Are: The Story of Nirvana. The audio is coupled with footage of the places Kurt Cobain called home.
