As WHO Announces Suicide is 'large public health problem,' Ottawa Author Launches 'Happiness 4 Humanity' Movement

Ottawa's own internationally noted spiritual author Cindy Teevens aims to reverse rising suicide rates with the 'Happiness 4 Humanity' crowdfunding campaign launching Wednesday, September 10th – World Suicide Prevention Day.

OTTAWA, Sept. 9, 2014 /CNW/ - Recent celebrity suicides highlight the public health problem plaguing our society today. This week, the WHO called for action to reduce global suicide rate of 800,000 a year.

"Everything we thought about happiness is wrong," Cindy Teevens, local author who swapped suicide for joy, and has dedicated her life to suicide prevention.

Ontario loses 1,185 people to suicide each year. On World Suicide Prevention Day, Teevens launches the 'Happiness 4 Humanity' campaign to raise $12,200 to facilitate free, large-scale public Inner Peace and Happiness Workshops, reversing the rising stress, depression and suicide rates in Ottawa, with an eye for a cross-Canada tour.
