As part of their year-end concert, the Chœur polyphonique de Montréal
(CPM) and Chœur classique de Montréal (CCM) are joining voices to
present an homage to Schumann.
MONTREAL, May 27 /CNW Telbec/ - Accompanied by the Orchestre symphonique des jeunes de Montréal (OSJM) and under the direction of Louis Lavigueur, the choirs will perform the great romantic composer's Mass in C Minor, Op. 147, as well as the Shicksalslied, Op. 54, by his contemporary Johannes Brahms.
In addition to accompanying the choirs in the above pieces, the orchestra will also play Schumann's Symphony No. 1 in B Flat Major. The guest soloists are Odéi Bilodeau, soprano, Jacques-Olivier Chartier, tenor, and Laurent Deleuil-Millette, bass.
The concert will be held on Saturday, June 5, at 8:00 p.m., at the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Montréal, on Rachel Street, between Drolet and Henri-Julien Streets.
