Ari Kaplan Departs Koskie Minsky To Launch Solo Mediation Practice Focused on Pension and Benefits Matters

TORONTO, Sept. 20, 2016 /CNW/ - Koskie Minsky LLP announced today that Ari N. Kaplan will be leaving the Firm on September 30, 2016, to launch Mediation Benefits at Kaplan Law, a solo legal practice focused on mediation in the pension and benefits sector.

In 2015, Ari became Canada's first Qualified Mediator (Q.Med.) with recognized expertise in pension law, and he has made the decision to focus his career and new venture in this dedicated area. His new office will be located at 393 University Avenue, Suite 2000, in Toronto.

Ari has been a member of the nationally and internationally-recognized pension and benefits practice at Koskie Minsky LLP for more than 18 years and has served as counsel or co-counsel on some of Canada's landmark pension cases. Perhaps most notably, Ari is the author of Pension Law (Irwin:2006; co-author 2e 2013), which is frequently cited as an authority by the Supreme Court of Canada and numerous other courts and tribunals.

Ari departs from Koskie Minsky LLP with the support, encouragement and best wishes of all of the Partners, Associates and Staff.
