Trips to Fairmont Mountain Resorts, WestJet flights, or a Hawaii vacation to be won.
TORONTO, Sept. 8 /CNW/ - Travelocity.ca wants to know if you are as smart as the Travelocity Roaming Gnome. Consumers who try to show that they are smarter could win vacations, flights, hotel stays or hundreds of other prizes, including book libraries or their very own Travelocity Roaming Gnome.
For 13 weeks Travelocity.ca will challenge Canadians who visit www.travelocity.ca/contest to match their wits and travel knowledge to that of Travelocity.ca's spokesgnome—the Travelocity Roaming Gnome. By answering a few travel-related trivia questions, challengers earn sweepstakes entries for a Fairmont Mountain Adventure vacation, a trip for two to Hawaii, or one of 13 pairs of tickets from WestJet to anywhere in Canada that they fly.
"The Travelocity Roaming Gnome is a smart guy who has travelled the world," said Brian Simpson, operations and public relations manager for Travelocity.ca. "But Canadians are travel savvy and I think he'll be surprised how well people can hold their own against him!"
The contest, which launched August 17 and runs until November 16, 2010, gives entrants three ways to win great travel prizes:
- Weekly sweepstakes drawn from entries that week. Consumers earn entries by completing the trivia contest, inviting friends, and performing other tasks;
- A grand prize sweepstakes at the end of the contest that is drawn from all entries over the 13 week period;
- An instant win matching game.
The grand prize winner will receive a nine-day/eight-night trip to Fairmont Mountain Resorts in Whistler (Chateau Whistler), Jasper (Jasper Park Lodge), Lake Louise (Chateau Lake Louise), and Banff (Banff Springs Hotel).
Travelocity.ca will also be awarding a first prize winner a trip for two to the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel near Kona, Hawaii with airfare courtesy of WestJet.
Other prizes include 13 weekly prizes of two WestJet vouchers for travel anywhere within Canada that WestJet flies; and multiple instant win prizes that include book libraries and/or individual titles from Random House Canada, hotel stays, and Travelocity Roaming Gnome merchandise.
