Alberta Medical Association (AMA) Youth Run Club Launch

ALBERTA, Sept. 29, 2015 /CNW/ - Kids will be running! Watch students from Calgary and Edmonton launch a third-annual provincial initiative to get kids on their feet and moving.

The run club initiative, founded by the Alberta Medical Association (AMA) and Ever Active Schools (EAS), is an innovative partnership to support increased physical activity and physical literacy among Alberta youth.

What you'll see:

  • 500 students from Calgary and 170 students from Edmonton in a 1k fun run
  • Speech from Alberta Medical Association President Dr. Carl Nohr
  • Speech from President of the Running Room, John Stanton (Edmonton only)

The AMA Youth Run Club is an annual program held between September and June; it supports 305 schools (K-12) and 17,000 students across the province to offer a comprehensive, school-based running program.
