Aéro Montréal and Ontario Aerospace Council (OAC) sign a strategic collaboration agreement

LE BOURGET, FRANCE, June 16, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Aéro Montréal, Québec's aerospace cluster, today signed a framework collaboration agreement with the Ontario Aerospace Council (OAC), Ontario's aerospace cluster, during the International Paris Air Show. This agreement aims to establish a special relationship between the two aerospace clusters and increase exchanges of information regarding innovation and optimization of the supply chain.

Suzanne M. Benoît, President of Aéro Montréal, applauded the initiative, noting that it will provide many benefits to Québec's aerospace industry. "We strongly believe there is good potential for sharing information on our sector's challenges and best practices, especially with regards to the development of business opportunities and the internationalization of SMEs," she said. "Our goal is to develop a system of collaboration between our two organizations on various projects and implement cross membership. We want to foster a better structured network among Ontario and Québec SMEs by creating a true link between our two regions."

"OAC is delighted to be strengthening its business relationship with Aéro Montréal which will allow our respective members to enjoy a wider range of benefits," says Moira Harvey, Executive Director, OAC. "This strategic collaboration agreement will provide a solid base for SMEs in the Toronto-Montréal corridor to develop their collaboration processes and their opportunities for growth."

At a time when the global aerospace supply chain is undergoing a transformation, it's in the interest of the provinces of Québec and Ontario to join forces since their respective aerospace industries are complementary. This collaboration could help to foster new opportunities for Québec suppliers in Ontario.
