TORONTO, May 9, 2016 /CNW/ - Trivia For Good Inc., the exciting new free to play mobile-trivia app that offers huge cash prizes to players along with big donations to charities, has launched its first contest today.
Trivia For Good is a Canadian start-up company in the digital advertising platform space that will give away $500,000 in its first five contests over the next ten weeks, with $400,000 of that going to winners and the rest donated directly to charity.
"We hope to unleash a 'phenomena of kindness' as we provide cash windfalls to our top contestant weekly, while paying forward large donations to our charity partners, Right To Play, Els for Autism and Jays Care Foundation," said Ronald Hulse, President and COO.
After a week of previews, dubbed "Clue Week", the first series of video-based trivia contest questions will appear daily, Monday through Thursday, on the app at 11:55 a.m. EST, 12:55 p.m. EST and again at 1:55 p.m. EST, starting Monday May 16th.
The contestant who correctly answers the most questions in the shortest time will be declared the winner. Each Sunday after the contest has been played, the winner will be revealed and awarded $80,000, with an additional $20,000 going to the named charities.
Anyone 18 years of age or older is eligible to win simply by downloading the Trivia For Good App from the Google Play store or alternatively registering to play at www.triviaforgood.com. An IOS version will enable iPhone owners to play, win, and "play for a purpose" beginning mid-June.
"I don't believe you'll find another free game where someone can play and win that much cash while also directly helping charities," said Steven Glaser, CEO of Trivia For Good.
"The prize pools will increase to USD$1Million per contest as the company expands to a global audience. We also have plans for even larger prizes and donations centered around the Olympics later this year," said Glaser.
