2017 Legislative Conference - "Standing Together" & Unveiling of Canadian Building Trades Monument

OTTAWA, May 12, 2017 /CNW/ - Canada's Building Trades Unions (CBTU) are hosting their annual Conference May 15th-16th, 2017 in Gatineau, QC. The conference will culminate with the much anticipated unveiling of the Canadian Building Trades Monument in Major's Hill Park in Ottawa, ON. More than 400 leaders from the construction industry, labour organizations, and the purchasers of construction services from across Canada and the United States will be in attendance.

The following speakers will address the conference on Monday, May 15th between 9am and 12 noon:

Grand Chief of the Innu Nation, Anastasia Quepee

The Honourable Patty Hadju, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development, and Labour

The Honourable Jim Carr, Minister of Natural Resources

The Honourable Catherine McKenna, Minister of Environment and Climate Change

Alex Nuttall, Member of Parliament (Barrie – Springwater – Oro-Medonte)

Monday, May 15th 1pm-4pm:

John Greer and Duncan Patterson, Artist & Intern Architect responsible for the Canadian Building Trades Monument

Tuesday, May 16th between 9 am and 12 noon features: 

Sean McGarvey, President of the North American Building and Construction Trades

Mary Walsh

The Honourable Sergio Marchi, President & CEO of the Canadian Electricity Association
