MONTREAL, Nov. 17, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Twenty four police officers and three civilians who work in law enforcement will be honoured during the 18th Quebec Police Awards Gala, to be held today at the Marriott Château Champlain Hotel in Montreal.
Members of the Quebec Police Awards gala's Board of Governance will be outlining the exceptional work of these police officers, emphasizing their particular acts of bravery and dedication to duty. The Board of Governance has based their selection of winners on objectivity, impartiality and serenity. Winners at this year's gala will receive a crystal, which salutes courage, team spirit, perseverance and dedication to the community.
The gala, hosted by Sylvain Boisvert -- a Quebec City Police officer -- is expected to be attended by about 250 guests from the province's police, political and business communities. The gala will begin at noon and the presentation of awards will get under way at 12:50 p.m.

Quebec Police Awards Board of Governance
The Quebec Police Awards gala is presided by the Board of Governance whose mandate is to examine all of the candidacies submitted, regardless of the origins of the policing organization.
A $5,000 donation to Partenaires 12-18
Proceeds from the Quebec Police Awards gala will be presented by the Quebec Provincial Police Association's benevolent fund and by the Quebec Mounted Police Members' Association to Partenaires 12-18, a non-profit community organization that assists teens between 12 and 18, with an emphasis on providing leadership skills, entrepreneurship and community involvement.
