TORONTO, Sept. 19, 2012 /CNW/ - Toronto Hydro trucks and equipment occupy the sidewalk to replace a number of cables that have failed and caused numerous outages in the past year. Due to systemic failures, the cable needs to be replaced altogether. Approximately 40 per cent of outages on Toronto Hydro's grid are caused by equipment past its normal life span.
