Thousands of College and University Students Sign Up For Unique Job Fair with Award-Winning Employers
TORONTO, Jan. 18, 2012 /CNW/ - What do you get when you mix thousands of college and university students with award-winning employers from the Canada's Top 100 Employers project? A remarkable new job fair called the NEW GRAD CAREER EXPO, which takes place January 25 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
"We wanted to organize an upscale career fair where students and recent graduates could meet award-winning employers face-to-face," says the event's organizer, Karen Le, Assistant Publisher at Mediacorp Canada Inc. "It's the first time a job fair like this has been organized in Canada and the response has been incredible - thousands of young people have already registered to attend."
What sets the NEW GRAD CAREER EXPO apart is that the exhibitors have all been recognized as award-winning employers by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. "For young people, it's an exceptional opportunity to connect with the very best employers in the nation," says Mediacorp Publisher Tony Meehan. "Why not start your career at an organization that leads its industry in providing forward-thinking benefits and progressive human resources policies?"
All the employers taking part in the NEW GRAD CAREER EXPO are currently hiring new graduates and have been recognized as exceptional workplaces by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. Mediacorp manages this editorial project, together with eight special-interest "top employer" competitions on subjects ranging from green initiatives to the best employers for young people. Mediacorp also publishes The Career Directory, an annual guide now in its 18th year that lets new graduates match their academic qualifications with great employers that need people with their skills.
The NEW GRAD CAREER EXPO will also feature a special musical performance by New Brunswick singer-songwriter Andy Brown, who performed his hit single "Ashes" on ABC Television's Rookie Blues program last week. Hot Toronto dance DJ Dave Campbell will also be spinning tunes all day, so young people can groove while they look for a great place to work.
Recent university and college graduates, as well as current students, can register online for the NEW GRAD CAREER EXPO by visiting: http://www.NewGradExpo.ca
