NIAGARA FALLS, ON, June 5, 2012 /CNW/ - As the excitement for the June 15 Wallenda Stunt Walk over the falls builds, so too does the interest in the daredevils who challenged the Falls before him. Those who want to climb inside history can do so with a visit to the Niagara Daredevil Exhibit inside the Niagara IMAX Theatre. Home to the world's only collection of the original daredevil barrels, the exhibit chronicles the people who have challenged the falls and the fates that awaited them. Located on Fallsview Boulevard, the theatre is also home to a Daredevil movie featuring the story of the Great Blondin who claimed fame in 1860 with his flamboyant tightrope crossings of the Falls.
The immersive IMAX experience, the accessibility of the barrels, spheres and other contraptions that are not locked behind barriers, the news clippings, videos and incredible daredevil stories combine to truly allow people to feel what it must have been like to enter into the falls, with no safety net, facing the raging waters, mostly in a bid for fame.
The Daredevil Exhibit and IMAX movie combination can be found at the Niagara IMAX Theatre, 6170 Fallsview Boulevard. Tickets and information are available online at www.imaxniagara.com or by phone 905-358-3611.
