Smart, Happy, Positive: New Canadian Magazine, What Makes You Happy, Gives Readers What They Can't Find - HAPPY READING

Exclusive: New Ipsos global survey tracks happiness in 24 countries over 5 years, Rick Mercer claims to be more conservative than the PM, Workplace Happiness explained

TORONTO, Feb. 9, 2012 /CNW/ - What Makes You Happy, a new, Canadian magazine with information and articles touching on all things happy, will be distributed with the Globe & Mail, Friday, February 10th.

"We conducted in-depth research on the concept for this magazine and every person - without exception - was energized to talk about happiness and eager to hear what makes others happy - so that's what we're about!" said Johnny Lucas, the magazine's editor. "No one didn't get it. Everyone was interested in reading about positive things and happiness. Advertisers in particular were clear and enthusiastic about wanting to be associated with positive messages."

One highlight of the first issue is the exclusive release of an international happiness poll conducted by Global research company Ipsos which found, among other things, that one country's citizens are 6% "very happy" while the population of another country is 51% "very happy."

On the cover of the first issue is CBC's Rick Mercer who discusses his show, his feelings for Newfoundland and Canada, politics of course, and tries to convince us that he is not a comedian. The rest of the magazine is filled with happy, inspiring, silly, important, useful, and/or frivolous articles that address different aspects of happiness.

Six issues of What Makes You Happy, will be published each year.  It will be distributed in the Globe & Mail and individual subscriptions will be available. For more information go to www.happyhappyhappy.ca
