Searching for the Next Einstein - Could it be you?

Hebrew University is looking for BIG Ideas to Improve the World

TORONTO, Feb. 12, 2013 /CNW/ - The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HU) in conjunction with the Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University (CFHU) is proud to announce the launch of Searching for the Next Einstein online campaign.  Innovative thinkers young and old are invited to submit their BIG ideas in English or French on how to improve the world at www.searchingforeinstein.com or www.leprochaineinstein.com. The person with the winning idea will be awarded $10,000 and an opportunity to be recognized at the prestigious Israeli Presidential Conference in June 2013 hosted by President Bill Clinton.

Albert Einstein, one of the original founders of Hebrew University was one of the greatest thinkers of our time who demonstrated that certain ideas can improve the world for everyone. Einstein, though regarded as a scientist by many, was a versatile individual with knowledge and experiences in all areas of life, ranging from the arts, environment, politics and philosophy. Participants in the Searching for the Next Einstein campaign are encouraged to look for their own inner Einstein, think outside the box and come up with BIG ideas on how they would make the world a better place.

The search begins on February 11th and runs until Earth Day on April 22, 2013. On April 5 the top 10 ideas will be open for online voting representing 50% of the final vote with the other 50% determined by the judging panel, chaired by Professor Roger D. Kornberg, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry (2006),  and distinguished HU scholars, scientists and alumni.
