The Rotary Club of Toronto is celebrating 100 years of service to the
community. During our Centennial year, we are donating in excess of
$1,000,000 to local and international agencies!

Guest Speaker: Dr. Judith Shamian, R.N. Ph.D. L.L.D. President and CEO
of Victorian Order of Nurses, and President of the Canadian Nurses
Association. " Back to the Future: 100 Years of Serving People and
Dr. Shamian has published and spoken extensively nationally and
internationally on a wide range of topics. She is often called upon as
an expert to speak to, and consult on, many issues surrounding nursing,
health human resources, leadership, and health care policy by
provincial and federal government departments and agencies, and
internationally by other governments, academic bodies and the World
A $100,000 award will be presented to " Rotary Health and Wellness
Centre", a program initiative of The Good Neighbours' Club.
The Rotary Health and Wellness Centre addresses the issues faced by the
marginalized senior homeless men who have little or no access to vital
health care services. Thanks to numerous health care volunteers, this
vulnerable population will receive much needed medical services and
support provided in a confidential and dignified environment.
The Rotary Club of Toronto is the local chapter of Rotary International,
a volunteer-driven organization of business and professional leaders
dedicated to improving communities through a range of humanitarian,
intercultural and educational activities. The Toronto Rotary Club is
one of the largest clubs in Canada and this year celebrates 100 years
of service to the community.
