MONTREAL, Nov. 25, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Montreal's premier edition of
TEDxWomen will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at the Cinéma
Impérial. Like TEDx events around the world, TEDxMontrealWomen is a
unique event aimed at sharing new ideas on a variety of topics. Under
the theme "Positive Disruption," TEDxMontrealWomen will explore the
roles of men and women in society, respect for differences and our
collective need to embrace our strengths so that we can push the limits
of social norms and empower ourselves with more choices.
Local and international speakers will take part in a day-long
intellectual and emotional marathon on December 7, in English and

"TEDxMontrealWomen is an independently organized TEDx event. It is an

specially curated speakers share their knowledge and passion."
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
As TEDxMontrealWomen is a non-profit organization, the cost to attend is
reasonable ($65 to $75). To sign up, go to www.tedxmontrealwomen.com. The event will be held on December 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the
Cinéma Impérial (1432 De Bleury Street, Montreal).

Joey Adler: Founder of OneXOne and CEO of Diesel Canada, part of the Italian-based
Diesel fashion label.
Pamela Jeffery: Founder of the WXN public affairs consulting firm and the Canadian Board
Margarita Lafontaine: Founder of the magazine Premières en affaires.
Karl Moore: Co-director of McGill University's Advanced Leadership Program.
Pascale Pageau: President and Founder of Delegatus, and a civil and commercial
Désirée McGraw: President of the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation.
Anita Nowak: Integrating Director of the Social Economy Initiative at McGill
Björn T. Atterstam: Founder and Managing Partner of Boomtags, an organization dedicated to
conducting experiments that further the potential of the world.
Robby Hoffman: Named one of the "Top 10 Comedians" by the Montreal Mirror.
Nadia Younes: Leads global diversity and inclusion initiatives for Rio Tinto.
Motel Raphaël: Indie-pop band from Montreal led by Clara Legault, Emily Skahan and
Lamia Charlebois: Public relations consultant, former commentator on a CBC French radio
live morning show.
Maya Chivi: Child development specialist and education consultant.
Uriel Arreguin: Versatile creator, artistic director, stage director, designer,
artistic coach, choreographer and professional dancer.
Kimberly Sunstrum: Singer-songwriter.
Rosanna Tomiuk : Musician and artist, ex member of the Canadian Women's Water Polo Team.
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. For 25
years, the TED conference has brought together researchers,
entrepreneurs, artists, thinkers and inventors. Intellectual and
emotional marathon, oasis of ideas and innovation, TED conference
upsets, challenges and reverses. All themes are covered: science, art,
