Nissan Canada congratulates the province of British Columbia for ongoing commitment to clean energy vehicles

MISSISSAUGA, ON, March 28, 2013 /CNW/ - Nissan Canada Inc. applauds Environment Minister Terry Lake and the B.C. government for its announcement today to extend the Clean Energy Vehicle incentive program for another year. The program provides B.C. residents with up to $5,000 off the pre-tax sticker price for qualifying new battery electric and other clean vehicles, and reconfirms the province's commitment to the adoption and promotion of sustainable mobility.

"This announcement ensures that green vehicles are as attainable as possible for BC residents who continue to demonstrate their desire for environmentally sustainable mobility solutions," said Judy Wheeler, Director of Marketing, Nissan Canada Inc. "British Columbia was one of the first provinces in Canada to put a stake in the ground to promote clean energy vehicles and were thrilled this support continues."

Nissan was the first automaker committed to bringing electric mobility to the mass market with the launch of the all-electric Nissan LEAF in select markets in 2010, and in Canada in 2011.

To date, Nissan has sold more than 50,000 Nissan LEAFs worldwide making it the best-selling all-electric car ever.
