Toronto-based startup Verold Inc. is pushing the boundaries of how
people interact and communicate with 3D on the web
TORONTO, June 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Last night Verold Inc. previewed its
newly released, industry-changing Verold Studio in a 3D Art Battle.
This online platform makes it easy and affordable for people to
showcase 3D computer graphic art to an online community and collaborate
on it with their peers.
"We live, and experience the world in three dimensions. However, an
increasingly important part of our high-tech world is still stuck in
two dimensions - that of the web. The Verold Studio is our first step
in making it easier for CG artists to show their beautiful work in its
full glory on the web," said Jad Yaghi, co-founder and Chief Executive
Officer, Verold Inc. "We have gone to great lengths to ensure that
artists now have a medium that will allow them to show the world what
they can truly create, and we believe this will change how 3D content
The new Verold Studio has addressed three significant challenges faced
by 3D artists that have held back the development of 3D animation and
Lack of a third dimension on the web: seeing pictures of Michelangelo's
David is much different than seeing David as Michelangelo intended it
to be seen. The same is true for 3D CG Art.
Artists want to learn from each other: Until now artists have not been
able to showcase their work as it was intended, receive feedback and be
able to collaborate to enhance their designs.
Lack of tools that support 3D on the web: It is a painfully dull and
long process to prepare 3D art for the web, or games. Verold's
QRemesher, launching soon with Pixologic, will allow artists to quickly
get their models ready for the web.
The Verold Studio tackles all of these problems head on and paves the
way for anyone in the world to design and collaborate in 3D.
This is just the beginning for Verold however, "Imagine a world where
anyone can create their own 3D art, games or worlds," added Yaghi. "The
beauty of what Verold is trying to achieve is to make it simple for
people to quickly create 3D content and worlds. It will only be a
matter of time before there is an explosion in game development and we
hope to be a big reason why."
