Kia Canada Inc. named the Official Vehicle of the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic

  • Kia to supply Manulife Financial LPGA Classic 27 vehicles
  • Kia sponsored Michelle Wie to compete in the 2012 Classic

MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 19, 2012 /CNW/ - Kia Canada Inc. is proud to announce they are the Official Automotive Partner of the inaugural Manulife Financial LPGA Classic. The newly formed partnership will see six display vehicles placed throughout the Grey Silo Golf Course in Waterloo, ON, during the event, as well as 21 shuttle vehicles being used for the LPGA golfers. The 21 vehicles consist of a mix of 5- and 7-seater Sorento utility vehicles, the award-winning Optima SX Turbo and Hybrid Premium mid-size sedans. Additionally, Kia Canada Inc. has sponsored the 17th hole, as a hole-in-one opportunity. If any of the players record a hole-in-one on the 17th hole, they will win a 2013 Kia Optima SX Turbo.

"In light of our recent golf partnership with the top-ranked Canadian PGA Tour golfer, David Hearn, we are excited to align Kia as the Official Automotive Partner of the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic event," said Robert Staffieri, Director of Marketing for Kia Canada Inc. "The LPGA Tour golfers will be able to travel in comfort and style using our world-class vehicles for the duration of the event."

One of only two Canadian LPGA Tournaments, The Manulife Financial LPGA Classic began on June 18th, 2012 and runs until Sunday June 24th, 2012. The LPGA Tournament will see 144 female players competing to be crowned champion, including two-time LPGA winner, Michelle Wie, Kia's proud partner and sponsor.
