The annual OCTAS competition, organized by the Réseau Action TI,
recognizes individuals, companies and organizations for their
exceptional contribution to the Quebec information technology industry.
The event has been a highlight of the year for industry professionals
The Tech3Lab is an advanced research laboratory specializing in the
analysis of interactions between organizations' technological
interfaces and their employees or consumers. The laboratory focuses on
the user experience, and conducts much of its research in co-operation
with cutting-edge firms in Quebec and throughout Canada.
The lab, with about twenty researchers directed by professors Léger and
Sylvain Sénécal, uses numerous advanced behavioural and
neurophysiological measurement tools to study how users - both
consumers and employees - interact with companies' technologies. The
researchers can record employees' or consumers' eye movements, and
identify the zones that receive the most and the least attention in a
technological interface such as a website, a mobile application or an
internal information system.
The Tech3Lab helps better understand user behaviours that otherwise would go
unnoticed by researchers.
"We are very pleased with this recognition of the Tech3Lab with an OCTAS award. It rewards our team's hard work on advancing
knowledge, as well as the firms that collaborate with us," added
Professor Sénécal, Co-Director of Tech3Lab.
