TORONTO, Nov. 7, 2013 /CNW/ - At the 2013 Recycling Council of Ontario
(RCO) Annual Gala, GEEP (Global Electric Electronic Processing) was
presented with two platinum awards for excellence in waste reduction
and diversion in "Program Operator" and "Sustainable Product or
"Program Operator" category evaluates applications from private and
public sector waste diversion program operators, recyclers and
processors involved in residential or IC&I collection and/or
"Sustainable Product or Service" category evaluates products or services
that improve the management of resources, reduce wastes and/or minimize
negative environmental impacts during their own life cycle or the life
cycle of other goods and services as they are manufactured/produced,
consumed or at the end of useful life.
These awards are a reflection of GEEP's commitment to continuous
improvement in recycling technology and internal environmental
practices. The RCO has recognized these attributes as an affirmation
of the awards criteria. In order to achieve a platinum level score a
repeat applicant will need to demonstrate a major improvement in the
program with quantifiable outcomes. The award was proudly accepted by
David Guest, Vice President Sales and Marketing, who was accompanied by
other members of the GEEP team.
GEEP has been an RCO Award winner for eight consecutive years. It has
also been recognized as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies
(seven times) and Deloitte Green 15 Technology Award winner (four
times). Coupled with GEEP's pro-active and continuous commitment to
exceeding compliance standards (ISO, e-Stewards, R2), GEEP is an
industry leader and one of the most technologically advanced,
environmentally friendly and compliant companies in the world.
