Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons help Humber River Hospital Raise $624,000

TORONTO, May 10, 2013 /CNW/ - A show-stopping performance by legendary crooners Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons helped the Humber River Hospital Foundation raise $624,000 last evening to support the building and equipping of the NEW Humber River Hospital. The renowned group wowed 850 guests with renditions of the classic songs that have made them music icons and the subject of a hit Broadway show.

Dr. Narendra Singh, Chief of Pediatrics at Humber River Hospital, spoke passionately to the crowd about the impact their generosity would have on his patients and their families. His remarks helped raise $100,000 of the evening's total to support the purchase of important equipment for the new hospital's Paediatric Program. "The leading-edge technology in the new hospital will be the tools that will enable us to provide high quality, safe care to our community," noted HRH President & CEO, Dr. Rueben Devlin. "They will allow us to implement the latest patient and family-centred concepts, using the most innovative medical equipment available."

Humber River's "No Limits" award - created to recognize special individuals in our community who stand as extraordinary examples of Humber's vision for the future - was awarded to Frank Ciccolini Jr. for distinguishing himself as one of Humber's most dedicated and passionate volunteers. "Frank has given selflessly of his time and energy to our hospital, and for this we are grateful. Humber River Hospital is a better place for his vision, passion and infectious enthusiasm," said Heather Hurst, HRH Foundation President & CEO.

Proceeds from The River Ball will support the Hospital Foundation's campaign to raised $225 million to build and equip the NEW Humber River Hospital - North America's first fully digital hospital. The new hospital will be a place where patients are empowered to participate in all aspects of their care. In partnership with their teams of care providers, patients and families will take advantage of the technologies available to enhance the personal interactions that are the basis of great people care.
