More than 250 industry professionals from utilities, public benefits groups, regulatory agencies, as well as consultants and manufacturers, are attending.
The conference features a series of educational and networking opportunities, as well as exhibitors showcasing new products, services and solutions from industry innovators.
Sessions are addressing a wide range of industry topics:
- Innovative approaches to natural gas efficiency programs
- Using Evaluation, Measurement and Verification (EM&V) protocols to help you
- Marketing energy efficiency programs to ethnic communities
- Getting Commercial & Industrial customers to participate in demand response programs
- Energy benchmarking
In addition, attendees will discuss the need for trained workers in this field, even as unemployment remains high elsewhere.
"We are seeing that many of our members are looking for talented workers and that energy efficiency remains a hotspot for hiring," said Meg Matt, President and CEO of AESP. In a recent survey of AESP members, more than half said that they were actively hiring, and a majority of these jobs were in the $50,000 - $100,000 annual salary range.
AESP provides professional development programs, a network of energy practitioners, and promotes the transfer of knowledge and experience. Its members work in the energy services industry and represent electric and natural gas utilities, public benefits associations, regulatory and non-profit entities, vendors, manufacturers and consulting firms.
