MONTREAL, June 13, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The creative community has
spoken. At a private event held on May 30 at the Ontario Art Gallery by
Astral Out-of-Home for the creative community, Carte Blanche for Creatives, the creative contest for creatives, by creatives, announced its Grand
Prize winner for the Anglophone segment of its contest. The creative
team formed by Alice Blastorah, artistic director, and Neal Khosla,
copywriter, from BBDO, won the Grand Prize for "Youth without shelter". The Grand Prize for
the Francophone section had been awarded May 24 to creatives from LG2.
Winners of both the Anglophone and Francophone sections of the contest
will fly to Cannes for the Lions International Advertising Festival,
while the winning ads will be featured in an outdoor campaign on the
Astral Outdoor network respectively in the Toronto and Montreal region.
More than 120 original concepts were submitted to the contest this year
by the advertising industry's creative community. "This contest is
popular with the creative community because it offers them the
opportunity to push the envelope of the art of display, by allowing
them to design an ad without a briefing or restrictions", said Astral
Out-of-Home Marketing and Media Creativity Vice-President, Nathalie
Doré. And this year, the winning concept is a real logistic challenge
for us, a challenge that we are ready to address". The "Youth without
shelter winning concept consists in taking off the bus shelter in order
to recreate the conditions of the homeless youth.
