TORONTO, Feb. 27, 2012 /CNW/ - You know what they say about payback: it's a bitch. DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES meets Mean Girls in the highly anticipated, deliciously fun, much buzzed-about new drama, GCB, premiering Sunday, March 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, CTV Mobile and on demand on the CTV Video Player at CTV.ca visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times). Set in the heart of Dallas, Texas, GCB stars Leslie Bibb (Iron Man, Confessions of a Shopaholic), Emmy® and Tony Award®-winner Kristin Chenoweth (PUSHING DAISIES), Emmy® Award-nominee Annie Potts (DESIGNING WOMEN), and Canada's David James Elliot (JAG). From Executive Producer and creator Robert Harling (Steel Magnolias, First Wives Club), along with Darren Star (SEX AND THE CITY, MELROSE PLACE), GCB entertains the idea that you can go home again - but only if you're ready to face the sins of your past.

**Media Note** Photography for GCB is available online at BellMediaPR.ca.

The series follows Amanda Vaughn (Leslie Bibb), once the ultimate high school "mean girl," forced to return home in disgrace after her marriage ends in scandal. Hesitant about re-entering the world of big hair, affluence, salacious gossip and Bible study, she is unsure if the good Christian women will welcome her with open arms, or stab her in the back with a stiletto. As Amanda and her teenaged kids try to adjust to their new surroundings, the ladies of the Highland Park community alternate between sympathy and scheming.

The other fabulous GCBs include former unpopular teen-turned-diva-of-Dallas Carlene Cockburn (Kristin Chenoweth); the shrewd, distinguished CEO Cricket Caruth-Reilly (Miriam Shor, DAMAGES); the endearing, consummate housewife and mother, Sharon Peacham (Jennifer Aspen, PARTY OF FIVE); and the self-made, always-single-but-on-the-prowl Heather Cruz (Marisol Nichols, 24, NCIS: LOS ANGELES).  Amanda's fabulously Texan mother Gigi Stopper (Annie Potts) is the societal matriarch of Dallas, one classy dame not to be crossed. Tough-yet-loving, Gigi has specific ideas about how Amanda should re-enter Dallas' complex and terrifyingly excessive social scene.

Behind every great GCB is a great husband. In addition to Ripp Cockburn (David James Elliott), a devoted hunk to Carlene with a secret or two, the series also features Cricket's chap Blake Reilly (Mark Deklin, HOT IN CLEVELAND), and Sharon's Zack Peacham (Brad Beyer, SEX AND THE CITY), a good-time guy and former pro athlete. In the end, GCB begs the question: Can you go back home to a place where no one seems to have grown up?

In the series premiere (March 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT following DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES on CTV), the women of Dallas are none too happy to see Amanda back in town and are about to get a major dose of PTSD. Former unpopular teen-turned-diva-of-Dallas Carlene Cockburn (Chenoweth) was tortured by Amanda in high school but has made quite the "assisted" transformation since. Then there's Cricket Caruth-Reilly (Shor) whose boyfriend Amanda stole and later married. Fallen beauty queen Sharon Peacham (Aspen), whose chance at the Miss Teen Dallas crown was snatched away by a malicious rumor Amanda started, hasn't really been the same since. Finally, there's Heather Cruz (Nichols), a bit of an outsider back in high school who has now become fully inducted into this twisted little social clique of affluent, sugary, God-fearing, steely women whose bark is as bad as their bite. The GCBs who now rule the school that is Dallas society still can't seem to let go of old grudges.

How to be a GCB? For good measure, below is a list of GCB Commandments that all good viewers must abide by:

  1. Thou shalt add bling to everything
  2. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's stilettos
  3. Thou shalt love a C cup, unless you fit into a D cup
  4. Thou shalt cover up thy muffin top
  5. Remember the spa day and keep it holy
  6. Honour thy manis and thy pedis
  7. Thou shalt know it's wrong to expose your thong
  8. Thou shalt not bear false designer labels
  9. Thou shalt match the volume of thy hair to the size of thy handbag
  10. Thou shalt not wear it, if it's under a carat
  11. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's husband… unless he's really hot
  12. Thou shalt not mess with Texas
  13. Honour thy fellow Christians including Christian Dior and Christian Louboutin
  14. Thou shalt not steal thy neighbour's Neimen Marcus gift card
  15. Watch GCB Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV.

GCB is executive-produced by Robert Harling (Steel Magnolias), Darren Star (SEX AND THE CITY), Aaron Kaplan (TERRA NOVA), Gretchen J. Berg and Aaron Harberts (PUSHING DAISIES) and Victor Nelli, Jr. (UGLY BETTY). The pilot is written by Harling and executive-produced and directed by Alan Poul. GCB is produced by ABC Studios. The series is based on the book, Good Christian Bitches, by Kim Gatlin.
