CALGARY, May 31, 2013 /CNW/ - The Canadian Investor Relations Institute
("CIRI") Alberta Chapter today announced the appointment of Alison
Trollope as the new President of the Chapter. Alison is Manager,
Investor Relations for Canadian Oil Sands Limited (COS) and has served
on the CIRI Alberta Board since 2012, and prior to that was on the
Board from 2006 to 2009. Alison succeeds Anne Plasterer, past
President, who will remain on the Board.
"Alison is one of Calgary's top IROs, bringing a diverse background and
extensive experience to the role of President," said Anne Plasterer.
"Alison's enthusiasm and commitment to the IR profession will
significantly contribute to CIRI's role of advancing the practice of
investor relations within capital markets."
Alison possesses more than 15 years of investor relations, corporate
communications and regulatory compliance experience across a broad
range of industries. Prior to joining Canadian Oil Sands, Alison
established and led the award-winning investor relations and corporate
communications department of a mid-cap energy producer listed on the
TSX. Previously, she was the Executive Director of Investor Relations
for Isis Pharmaceuticals and prior to that the Director of Investor and
Public Relations for Maxygen, Inc., both of California and listed on
Nasdaq. Before moving to California, she worked for several years in
public relations agencies in New York City where her clients included
organizations in the energy, healthcare, technology and consumer goods
sectors, from pre-IPO start-ups to large-cap corporations with
established global brands. Alison holds a Master of Science in Public
Relations from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse
University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the
University of Calgary.
CIRI Alberta also announced that the following individuals were elected
