Chrystia Freeland is the Managing Director and Editor of Consumer News at Thomson Reuters,
following years of service at the Financial Times in New York, London, Moscow and Kiev. She was the deputy editor of The Globe and Mail and has written for the Financial Times, The Economist, The Washington Post, The New Yorker and The Atlantic. Freeland's last book was Sale of the Century: Russia's Wild Ride from Communism to Capitalism. She was born in Peace River, Alberta, Canada and lives in New York

the University of Toronto.
