Coworkers give back to the community via annual fundraising efforts
ETOBICOKE, ON, Dec. 23, 2013 /CNW/ - This holiday season, CDW Canada, a leading provider of technology solutions for Canadian organizations
in the public and private sectors, is proud to announce it is donating
more than $28,000 to Children's Miracle Network in support of The
Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). The company's donations are a
direct result of various fundraising initiatives.
As part of their annual holiday campaign efforts, CDW Canada coworkers
raised funds and donated new toys to help spread holiday cheer to
children undergoing treatment at the hospital.
"As we enjoy the holidays at home with our loved ones, we are reminded
that there are children who will be spending the holidays in hospital.
CDW Canada coworkers hope this contribution helps make the season a bit
brighter for these children and their families," said Mary Ann Yule,
Vice President and General Manager, CDW Canada.
During an award presentation Thursday, CDW Canada was pleased to present
SickKids Foundation with a cheque for its monetary donation, all in
support of the SickKids mandate of delivering and maintaining an
enhanced level of care for patients, families, doctors and staff. The
toys collected from CDW Canada's annual toy drive were also delivered
to the hospital for SickKids' patients to enjoy this holiday season.
"Every day at SickKids we improve the lives of children and their
families through ground-breaking research, care and learning. The
generous support of donors like CDW Canada is what allows us to make
this happen," said Adrian Horwood, Vice President of Corporate
Partnerships at SickKids Foundation. "CDW Canada's commitment to
