LONGUEUIL, QC, July 12, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Regroupement des
cabinets de courtage d'assurance du Québec (RCCAQ) has been shaken by
the tragedy that recently struck the municipality of Lac Mégantic.
Brokers in the area are striving to come to the aid of the victims.
In particular, the RCCAQ would like to acknowledge the efforts of
everyone at FGL Assurances. The firm has taken various special
measures, including extending its business hours and taking on
additional staff to assist clients affected by the incident.
"It's in situations like this that brokers have a chance to demonstrate
their true value. Thanks to their understanding and professionalism,
they are in a position to provide moral support to clients who might
otherwise feel unequipped to deal with the complexities of the
insurance industry," said RCCAQ chair Michel Duciaume. "Maintaining a
local presence in all regions of Quebec enables brokerage firms to
offer personalized service at all times following all types of
incidents," he added.
The RCCAQ will continue to gather information on the incident as new
developments arise. We would also like to extend our condolences to the
all those directly affected by this tragedy.
The RCCAQ is a professional association that seeks to promote and defend
the socio-economic interests of its member brokerages. It represents
4,500 insurance brokers based in 615 brokerages and branch offices
across the province.
