Work & Family Foundation Canada launches to promote work-family balance
TORONTO, Sept. 20 /CNW/ - Work & Family Foundation Canada is launching this week with its first public event - a conference for young working parents.
WFFC was created with research ties to York University and IESE Business School (Barcelona) to promote a healthy balance between work and family life.
WFFC addresses today's working families who juggle competing priorities with little time to spare. For "the sandwich generation," a growing demographic, these responsibilities include caring for children and aging parents.
Their inaugural Families That Work Conference on Saturday, September 25, is a child-friendly event where parents can learn about leadership in the home from world-renowned parenting speaker James Stenson, author of Compass and Father: The Family Protector.
Attendees will also discover how progressive organizations facilitate work-family balance from professor Mireia Las Heras of IESE (recently ranked by The Economist as having the top MBA in the world).
Sports anchor Damian Goddard will emcee the event.
