TORONTO, Oct. 9, 2026 /CNW/ -- Global X Investments Canada Inc. ("Global X" or the "Manager") is announcing that effective today, it is permanently reducing the annual management fees for the Global X Active Ultra-Short Term Investment Grade Bond ETF ("HFR"), the Global X MSCI Emerging Markets Index ETF ("EMMX.U") and the Global X MSCI EAFE Index ETF ("EAFX.U").
Global X Active Ultra-Short Term Investment Grade Bond ETF (HFR)
The investment objective of HFR is to generate income that is consistent with prevailing Canadian short-term corporate bond yields while reducing the potential effects of Canadian interest rate fluctuations on HFR. HFR invests primarily in a portfolio of Canadian debt (including debt-like securities) directly, and hedges the portfolio's interest rate risk by maintaining a portfolio duration that is not more than one year. HFR may also invest directly in debt of U.S. companies, as well as indirectly through investments in securities of listed funds. HFR uses derivatives, including interest rate swaps, to deliver a floating rate of income.
Effective today, the annual Management Fee of HFR will be permanently reduced from 0.40% of the net asset value of the units of HFR, plus applicable sales tax, to 0.25% of the net asset value of the Units of HFR, plus applicable sales tax.

"HFR is one of our largest and most popular fixed income mandates, with a track record spanning over fifteen years and a proud history of industry recognition for risk-adjusted performance from LSEG Lipper and Fundata, alongside a 5-star Morningstar Rating," said Erik Sloane, Executive Vice President, Head of Distribution at Global X. "Advisors and investors are looking for attractive income while reducing interest rate risk. That's where HFR can play an important role, combining actively managed corporate bonds with a floating-rate approach to limit the impact of rate changes. With interest rates increasing and fixed income securities returning to favour, we're making these changes proactively to the investor's benefit."
The ETF is sub-advised by Fiera Capital Corporation ("Fiera" or the "Sub-Advisor"), one of Canada's largest fixed income managers. The Sub-Advisor uses fundamental credit research to select securities of issuers that are believed to offer attractive risk adjusted returns.
The investment objectives, strategies, and existing name for HFR, as outlined in its prospectus, remain the same.
Global X MSCI Emerging Markets Index ETF (EMMX.U)
EMMX.U seeks to replicate, to the extent reasonably possible and net of expenses, the performance of an index that is designed to measure the performance of the large- and mid-cap securities across emerging market countries (currently, the MSCI Emerging Markets Index).
Effective today, the annual management fee of EMMX.U will be permanently reduced from 0.25% of the net asset value of the units of EMMX.U, plus applicable sales tax, to 0.17% of the net asset value of the units of EMMX.U, plus applicable sales tax. The Fee Reduction is also applicable to the Canadian dollar-denominated units, traded under the ticker symbol EMMX.

"Investors are taking a fresh look at how developed and emerging markets fit into the core of their portfolios, and EMMX and EAFX put that world of opportunity within reach," said Erik Sloane. "These reductions build on the fee reductions we announced and implemented last year for two other benchmark ETFs, including our S&P/TSX 60 and the Nasdaq-100 ETFs. Now, we are further extending our commitment to products tracking the MSCI Emerging Markets and MSCI EAFE indices. We are working hard to place Global X at the heart of Canadian investment portfolios, and we're backing that ambition with lower costs on the core exposures that investors and advisors count on."
The investment objectives, strategies, and existing name for EAFX.U, as outlined in its prospectus, remain the same.

Fundata FundGrade A+ Award
Global X Active Ultra-Short Term Investment Grade Bond ETF (HFR) was ranked in the Canadian Short Term Fixed Income category out of 82 funds. The end date for the FundGrade calculation is December 31, 2025.
About the FundGrade A+® Awards Methodology
FundGrade A+® is used with permission from Fundata Canada Inc., all rights reserved. The annual FundGrade A+® Awards are presented by Fundata Canada Inc. to recognize the "best of the best" among Canadian investment funds. The FundGrade A+® calculation is supplemental to the monthly FundGrade ratings and is calculated at the end of each calendar year. The FundGrade rating system evaluates funds based on their risk-adjusted performance, measured by Sharpe Ratio, Sortino Ratio, and Information Ratio. The score for each ratio is calculated individually, covering all time periods from 2 to 10 years. The scores are then weighted equally in calculating a monthly FundGrade. The top 10% of funds earn an A Grade; the next 20% of funds earn a B Grade; the next 40% of funds earn a C Grade; the next 20% of funds receive a D Grade; and the lowest 10% of funds receive an E Grade. To be eligible, a fund must have received a FundGrade rating every month in the previous year. The FundGrade A+® uses a GPA-style calculation, where each monthly FundGrade from "A" to "E" receives a score from 4 to 0, respectively. A fund's average score for the year determines its GPA. Any fund with a GPA of 3.5 or greater is awarded a FundGrade A+® Award. For more information, see www.FundGradeAwards.com. Although Fundata makes every effort to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data contained herein, the accuracy is not guaranteed by Fundata.
