Media Advisory/Photo-Op - Zellers Community Project's first field trip for
MERC kids
Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre children attend Night Out at the Manitoba Museum
WINNIPEG , Nov. 5 /CNW/ - The media is invited to a photo opportunity of Zellers' new community investment initiative, the Zellers Community Project's (ZCP) first heritage field trip - a Night Out at the Manitoba Museum.
Zellers associates and children from the Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre (MERC) will spend a night at the Manitoba Museum, staying up late, telling stories, snacking and having a great time. They will participate in a flashlight tour, hear storytellers in the museum galleries, take in a Planetarium star show and then settle in for the night in the Science Gallery.
This event is the first of many programs included in the three-year, $300,000, Hudson's Bay Company (Zellers) partnership launched on August 11, 2010 as part of the City of Winnipeg's Sponsor Winnipeg program.
Benefiting members of Winnipeg's West End community is the main focus of Zellers' new community investment initiative, and a key component of ZCP is a donation of $50,000 over three years from the HBC History Foundation to promote pride, awareness and education through a series of field trips to historic sites in Winnipeg for MERC children.
As part of this field trip, Zellers store associates will provide children from MERC with a sleepover kit containing all the necessities they require for a sleepover at the Manitoba Museum. The sleepover kit includes a sleeping bag, toothbrush, toothpaste, flashlight, face cloth and small towel; courtesy of Zellers and its vendor partners: Coleman Supplies, Colgate Palmolive, Energizer and Homestyles.
