Excel Gold Mining Inc. Announces a Private Placement of a Maximum of $500,000

    QUEBEC CITY, May 13 /CNW Telbec/ - Excel Gold Mining Inc. (TSX-V : EGM)
(the "Corporation") is pleased to announce that it intends to complete a
non-brokered private placement of a maximum of 6,250,000 units for a total
amount of $500,000 (the "Private Placement"). Each unit is comprised of one
common share of the Corporation at a price of $0.08 per share and one-half of
one common share purchase warrant. Each common share purchase warrant entitles
its holder to subscribe for one common share of the Corporation at a price of
$0.12 per share for a period of 24 months following the closing date of the
Private Placement. The units to be issued with respect to the Private
Placement will be subject to a resale restriction of four months and one day.
The proceeds of the Private Placement will be used for the working capital of
the Corporation.

    Change of the Name of the Corporate and Ticker Symbol

    On April 22, 2008, the Corporation changed its name for "Les Mines D'or
Excel Inc." and its English version "Excel Gold Mining Inc.". Further to the
change of the name of the Corporation, the common shares of the Corporation
trade on the TSX Venture Exchange Inc. under the new ticker symbol "EGM".

    The Private Placement is subject to the approval of the competent
regulatory authorities.
