H&R Block launches National Tax Advice Week
Locations across the country answering questions for free to help the
tax confused
CALGARY, March 23 /CNW/ - H&R Block Canada, the leading tax preparation
company in Canada, has declared March 30 to April 4 National Tax Advice Week
and are offering Canadians the opportunity to have their tax questions
answered by a professional.
"A recent survey showed nearly three quarters of Canadians said they did
not take advantage of any new tax credits last year on their 2007 tax return
even though there were a number of changes that impacted most Canadians," says
Cleo Hamel, Senior Tax Analyst, H&R Block Canada. "With many Canadians facing
uncertain economic times, you can't afford to overpay the government with your
hard earned money."
For example, an average Canadian family with two young children, claiming
the Children's Fitness Credit and the Child Tax Credit would enjoy more than
$750 in tax savings.
"National Tax Advice Week is meant to try and help Canadians get all the
money back they are entitled to," explains Hamel. "One of the biggest mistakes
people make is thinking they don't qualify for a credit when actually they do.
Our tax associates are available to answer any questions - it is always better
to ask than not claim a credit."
During National Tax Advice Week, H&R Block tax associates will also be in
the community offering tips and advice in their neighbourhoods. H&R Block tax
associates are trained to ensure their clients receive their maximum tax
refund.
