Media advisory - Hot topics in child and youth health at paediatric conference
OTTAWA, June 23 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Paediatric Society's 86th
Annual Conference, June 23-27 in Ottawa, ON, will showcase the latest research
and developments in child and youth health. Over 700 paediatricians and child
and youth health professionals from across Canada are expected to attend.
The program includes more than 120 scientific abstracts in areas such as
neonatal-perinatal medicine, developmental paediatrics, adolescent health,
infectious diseases and mental health.
The conference features:
- A keynote address by Chantal Petitclerc, record-setting Canadian
wheelchair racer and winner of 21 Paralympic medals-14 of them gold.
Ms. Petitclerc will speak Tuesday, June 23 during the Opening
Ceremonies between 3:30 and 5:00 p.m. (all times local Ottawa).
- Workshops and seminars on timely child and youth health issues. Topics
include best practices in managing autism, child health and the
environment, elite child athletes, the impact of the internet and other
technologies on children and youth, innovations in child hearing loss,
causes of poor health in Canadian children and ongoing challenges for
the childhood cancer survivor.
