Ontario MPP Bruce Crozier profiled in current issue of Statements
TORONTO, June 24 /CNW/ - The first day Bruce Crozier had the privilege to
stand in Ontario's legislature as an elected official he confesses to being
"in complete awe."
Having run in five provincial elections, including those during the Rae
and Harris governments, the Liberal MPP for Essex and deputy speaker of the
House describes his political role as two distinct parts, his legislative
responsibilities at Queen's Park and his constituency back home in Leamington.
"The day I see it as a right and not a privilege is the day I leave," says
Bruce who doesn't rule out running in the next election.
In "Public Interest: A study of three CGAs in positions of political
prominence," Bruce discusses his rise from the mail room at Heinz to the
Ontario Legislature, how he feels about media scrutiny of politicians, and the
secret behind his signature bowtie. A certified general accountant (CGA) by
training, Bruce's profile is accompanied by profiles of fellow CGA politicians
Yasmin Ratansi, Ontario Liberal MP for Don Valley East, and Carl Zehr, the
longstanding mayor of the City of Kitchener.
