Who will she be?


    Is she your colleague, your boss, your friend? Is she a student, a young
    professional, a virtuoso?

    TORONTO, Aug. 27 /CNW/ - YWCA Toronto is now accepting nominations for
the 2010 YWCA Women of Distinction Awards. The awards recognize women who have
improved the lives of women and girls in the city of Toronto, Canada and the
world.
    In its 30 year history the YWCA Woman of Distinction Award has been
conferred on both acknowledged and emerging leaders: internationally acclaimed
film maker Deepa Mehta, youth activist Jessica Yee, former Member of
Parliament Jean Augustine, singer and health activist Sharon Hampson, business
leader Kiki Delaney and noted entrepreneur the late Beverly Mascoll.
    YWCA Toronto encourages nominations from all ethnic communities, faith
groups, professional associations, and sectors to reflect the diversity of the
city. The Young Woman of Distinction (16 to 30) also receives a $3,000 grant
from YWCA's Julia M. Ruby Fund.
    The deadline for nominations is Nov. 1, 2009 at 5 pm. For guidelines and

    YWCA Toronto will celebrate 30 years of inspiration at the YWCA Women of
Distinction Awards, presented by Sun Life Financial. The awards will take
place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on May 12, 2010.
