TORONTO, Nov. 6, 2015 /CNW/ -

WHAT: To commemorate Remembrance Day, The Azrieli Foundation will hold a unique ceremony in front of 1,000 Toronto students featuring Holocaust survivor and author Nate Leipciger. Leipciger will be speaking at Harbord Collegiate, the school he graduated from sixty-five years ago.

WHO: Survivor and Author Nate Leipciger. Leipciger's memoir, The Weight of Freedom, was recently published through the Azrieli Foundation's Holocaust Survivor Memoirs Program. Leipciger has been involved in Holocaust education and commemoration for decades, both in Toronto and internationally. He served on the International Council of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum for 15 years and has guided countless youth on the March of the Living for the past 15 years, returning to Poland to educate about the death camps and Jewish life before the war. Leipciger's activism and his message of courage, hope and resilience resonate with both student and adult audiences.
