Twenty People and Organizations Awarded for Volunteer Efforts

Who:

BIG on Bloor Festival, Toronto's most original two-day summer street celebration of arts, business and culture.



What:

The only street festival in the city to honour the contributions of individuals and organizations who make Bloordale a better place to live, work and play with "BIG Awards."



Where:

Bloor Street West between Dufferin Street and Lansdowne Avenue



When:

Awards Presentation Saturday, August 22 at 1 p.m.


Festival runs Saturday, August 22 (1 p.m.- 10 p.m.) and

Sunday, August 23 (Noon – 6 p.m.)



Why:

To promote community engagement, encourage leadership and recognize the good works of local organizations and people. Since 2011 BIG on Bloor has recognized the contributions of 115 individuals and groups. Winners include community volunteers, social service agencies, area businesses, artists and activists.
