Branded Chat Will Support New
F2N Block on Family Channel
TORONTO, Dec. 9, 2015 /CNW/ - Massively is pleased to announce the launch of its latest interactive chat promotion in support of DHX Television's kids network Family Channel's new teen programming block, F2N. Massively has created a unique chat experience for Kik (Kik Interactive Inc.) users to build excitement around the highly-anticipated premiere of Degrassi: Next Class on Monday, January 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on F2N.
Developed by Massively's creative team for F2N's teen audience, the launch of Family's Kik channel is its first foray into chat-based marketing. The chat bot allows Degrassi: Next Class fans to take a personality quiz based on the show and get a sneak peek at the characters and plot points from the show.
"Knowing that our audience for Family Channel, and the teens who are bound to watch F2N specifically, is technologically savvy, this new venture is a unique way for us to interact with our viewers in a setting they are not only familiar with, but dominate," said Paul Cormack, Vice President, Marketing, DHX Television. "Degrassi: Next Class is a socially-driven series where the characters are constantly on their mobile devices and the storylines are buzzworthy – encouraging viewers to stay connected and experience the drama with F2N as it unfolds."
"We are excited to debut Family's Channel's first branded chat," said Russell Ward, President of Massively. "We have created an experience that allows fans to connect directly with the brand in a personal way, on a platform where they love to spend time sharing content with friends."
Massively's branded chats have exchanged more than 50 million messages with Kik users in 2015. Previously, Massively developed and managed rich chat-based experiences on Kik, including Focus Features (Insidious: Chapter 3), Momentum Pictures (Yakuza Apocalypse), 20th Century Fox (Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials), the Indianapolis Colts and more.
Massively uses one-to-one messaging as a medium to extend movie and television content, creating chat-based bonus content and even allowing fans to talk to characters they love. Users send and receive text messages to guide stories, receive customer support and more.
