League Appoints Industry Leader Kim Tabac as Chief People Officer
Ex-Deloitte Executive Will Scale Company Growth and Inclusive Culture
TORONTO, Oct. 18, 2018 /CNW/ -- League Inc., a leading digital employee health benefits platform, today announced the appointment of Kim Tabac as Chief People Officer, bolstering the company's leadership team as it scales in Canada and the U.S.
Tabac will draw on over 20 years of experience building high performance teams, designing game-changing employee engagement strategies and developing truly inclusive work environments that transform how companies and individuals approach their health and benefits. In her first six months, she will focus on scaling the League team in Canada and the U.S., chairing League's Advisory Council and working with clients on their benefits strategy, including diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Previously, Tabac served as Partner and Chief Talent Officer of Deloitte Canada, where she introduced the first Talent Value Proposition in the firm's history, helped to establish the Deloitte brand as a diversity and inclusion leader in Canada and introduced a new enterprise talent acquisition program for employees at every level. Her career has spanned a variety of industries including healthcare, retail, financial services and professional services.
"Kim is the perfect person to serve as League's Chief People Officer, and I am delighted to welcome her to our team," said Michael Serbinis, CEO of League. "She is a true innovator in human resources and her experience leading this critical function at large organizations will be invaluable as League continues to scale and reach enterprise companies in Canada, the U.S. and, in 2019, Europe."
"I have been a big fan of the League brand and technology platform for several years," said Kim Tabac. "Wellbeing is an issue that is more relevant than ever to employees, in a talent marketplace that is more competitive than it has ever been. I am excited to be part of the team that helps employees to take back control of their health benefits, and helps employers to deliver a compelling and differentiated value proposition."
Founded in 2014 with the mission of building a culture of health for employers and their teams, League has helped businesses bring the same kind of transparency and convenience to benefits that employees have come to expect in a modern consumer experience. This has proven to be a key competitive differentiator for League customers such as Uber, Shopify and Unilever, who are focused on attracting and retaining key talent.
Earlier this year, League raised C$62 million in its Series B funding round from TELUS and Loblaws/Shoppers Mart, providing capital for the company's ongoing growth and further deepening relationships with major Canadian corporations with hundreds of thousands of employees.
