TTC Subway Service will be open all night as CIBC Run for the Cure participants can mingle with Nuit Blanche Revellers
TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2015 /CNW/ - On Sunday October 4th, subways and buses will be filled with people in pink! It's not some sort of 'ode to pink' artistic display from the previous evening's Nuit Blanche – it's runners and walkers en route to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure. To accommodate the two major Toronto events, the TTC will be running select subway/bus service all night and into the morning, allowing runners and walkers to get to the starting line on time, without having to drive.
All-night subways will be operating every 10-15 minutes on the following lines;
- Line 1 (Bloor-Danforth)
- Line 2 (Yonge-University)
In addition, all-night bus service will connect with the subways at Keele, Woodbine, Eglinton and St Clair West stations. Bus routes to note are as follows:
- The 300 Bloor-Danforth bus route will operate in two separate sections - west from Keele Station to Kipling Station and Pearson Airport; and east from Woodbine Station to Warden and Kennedy Stations.
- The 320 Yonge bus route will operate north from Eglinton Station to Steeles Avenue.
- "Downsview Station" shuttle buses will operate north from St Clair West Station to Downsview Station, serving Spadina Subway stations along the way.
Registration for the CIBC Run for the Cure in Toronto will open at 8:00 am, Opening Ceremonies begin at 9:00 am, 5K route starts at 10:00 am and the 1K starts at 10:15 am on Sunday, October 4.
