Media Advisory - Keep Toronto Reading Anime Ball Costume Party to Open With a Red Carpet Entrance

    TORONTO, Feb. 12 /CNW/ - On the eve of Valentine's Day, Toronto Public
Library invites youth and the young at heart to the Anime Ball at the York
Woods Theatre (1785 Finch Avenue West, East of Jane Street). Participants are
invited to come dressed as their favourite anime character and they can make a
dramatic entrance on a special red carpet.
    Special guest Emilie-Claire Barlow (Sailor Mars from the popular Sailor
Moon) will share her experience as a voice actor and then participants can
enjoy a screening of the anime, Ah! My Goddess: The Movie, on a big screen.
    This special evening is part of Keep Toronto Reading, Toronto Public
Library's city-wide, month-long celebration of the joy of reading.

    Backgrounder: Emilie-Claire Barlow

    Emilie-Claire Barlow began her career as a singer and voice actor at age
seven, lending her voice to various TV and radio jingles and voice-overs.
Anime fans will fondly recognize her as the voice of Sailor Mars on the
popular Sailor Moon series. Today, she is one of Canada's best-known jazz
singers. Her 2001 album Tribute was nominated for the Vocal Jazz Album of the
Year at the Juno Awards. Emilie-Claire also continues to work as a voice
actor. She can be heard on numerous commercials and recordings and is a
featured voice on several animated TV series, including Rescue Heroes and
6Teen.
