ZyXEL Communications Wins Best of WiMAX World Award for System Design

MAX-1200 and MAX-3200 Mobile WiMAX Product Series Selected from More Than
80 Competing Products

CHICAGO, September 25 /CNW/ - ZyXEL Communications Inc., a leading
provider of secure broadband networking, Internet connectivity and routing
products, is proud to announce that its MAX-1200/3200 Mobile WiMAX Product
Series has won the Best of WiMAX World USA 2007 Award for System Design and
has been nominated for the show's Industry Choice Award. ZyXEL has received
this honor for the second straight year; its PCMCIA card and integrated WiMAX
CPE series was awarded Best of WiMAX World in 2006. ZyXEL's WiMAX base station
series will receive the System Design award at a ceremony following the close
of the WiMAX World expo floor.

The winners were selected by an independent judging panel, including a
distinguished list of industry influencers. Eliot Weinman, conference co-chair
and president of Trendsmedia, the events and publishing division of Yankee
Group that produces WiMAX World, along with Paula Bernier, editor in chief,
and Tara Seals, associate editor, of xchange, presented the awards in seven
categories. ZyXEL and its award will be featured in the November issue of
xchange, as well as on the WiMAX World and xchange Web sites.

"xchange is pleased to acknowledge ZyXEL's contributions to the
development and promotion of WiMAX technology and services," said Mike Saxby,
publisher of xchange. "WiMAX success is dependent upon sustained innovation of
companies like ZyXEL that will no doubt be rewarded in the marketplace but
also deserve recognition by the community it supports."

    ZyXEL's MAX-1200 and MAX-3200 are IEEE802.16e standardized MIMO
Picocell/Femtocell base stations. Designed to give wireless Internet services
providers (WISPs) access to end-to-end solutions, the newly unveiled WiMAX
Base Stations offer the most complete and cost-efficient solutions in the
WiMAX industry. The series provides enhanced WiMAX coverage, increased 4G
network capacity, improved indoor radio penetration and maximized CAPEX/OPEX
savings. The series is ideal because it delivers extremely affordable hardware
platforms that provide cutting-edge features and great technical support to
make both CAPEX and OPEX easier for mobile service providers.

"We are excited and honored that our WiMAX product line has been
recognized by WiMAX World for the second year in a row," said Munira Brooks,
ZyXEL's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "ZyXEL R&D strives to
develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for service providers and it
is a great boost to our morale to be acknowledged for our efforts."
