Young amputees reach dreams at War Amps Ontario seminar

    OTTAWA, Oct. 19 /CNW Telbec/ - Like all youngsters, Graham Spero, 11, of
Nepean and Ryan Kaul, 10, of Pembroke, want to take part in physical
activities like swimming and playing hockey. Graham, born missing part of his
left hand, and Ryan, born a left hand amputee, are able to do so with the help
of limbs and devices provided by The War Amps.
    Graham and Ryan will show these devices today (Friday October 19th) at
10:30 a.m. in the Richelieu Room of The Crowne Plaza Hotel, 101 Lyon Street in
Ottawa on the opening day of The War Amps 2007 Ontario Child Amputee (CHAMP)
    In a session called Disability vs. Dreams - Dreams Win Every Time!, they
and other young amputees from across Ontario will describe the challenges they
have overcome to reach their dreams. This will include Tim Inglis, 19, of
Ottawa, a right leg amputee due to cancer, who will show his snowboarding leg
and the pedal device for his bike, and Annélise Petlock, 21, also of Ottawa,
who was born a left arm amputee. She will show her guitar device.
    Held October 19th to 21st, the Seminar will bring child amputees together
to see the latest in artificial limbs, attend counselling sessions and share
    CHAMP, founded by War Amps CEO Cliff Chadderton, utilizes the Winner's
Circle philosophy to change the lives of child amputees through artificial
limbs, counselling, regional Seminars and programs like Matching Mothers. The
