WSIB Warns Against Buying its Posters from 3rd Parties

TORONTO, Aug. 21 /CNW/ - The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)
has recently been informed that several individuals have been visiting
businesses across the province aggressively attempting to sell what they claim
are WSIB posters by providing incorrect information about legal requirements
and potential fines.
The individuals in question are not affiliated with the WSIB and are not
authorized to distribute or sell posters on behalf of the WSIB.
While it is mandatory under a regulation of the Workplace Safety &
Insurance Act for employers to display the poster entitled "In Case of Injury
- 1234" in their workplace, this poster is provided free of charge to
employers directly by the WSIB. Employers can order the poster by calling the
WSIB at (416) 344-1016, or 1-800-663-6639.
For more information, or if they are unsure of someone alleging that they
are affiliated with the WSIB, employers should contact their WSIB account
representative immediately.

Ontario's Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) plays a key role in
the province's occupational health and safety system. The WSIB administers
no-fault workplace insurance for employers and their workers and is committed
to the prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses. The WSIB provides
disability benefits, monitors the quality of healthcare, and assists in early
and safe return to work for workers who are injured on the job or contract an
occupational disease.
