World's First Company to Offer Investment in Natural Fancy Coloured Diamonds Launched

VANCOUVER, June 23 /CNW/ - Diamond broker, Colin David Ferguson, founder
of successful brands such as Rare & Precious Gems, PinkLuxury, and
Diamonds Direct, is pleased to announce the official launch of Rare Gem
Investor, the world's first and only company offering investment opportunities
in natural fancy coloured diamonds and rare gems. "After nearly 30 years in
the diamond industry I have developed an investment platform facilitating
direct investment in natural fancy coloured diamonds, at a time that appears
to be the most lucrative in history" says Ferguson.
Rare Gem Investor is the world's leading authority on the certain, secure
and lucrative investment in natural fancy colored diamonds and rare gems. As
the only Canadian broker ever to be invited to Rio Tinto's Argyle Diamond
Mine's exclusive annual Pink Diamond tender, the World's most prestigious
diamond offering, Rare Gem Investor has access to the world's rarest natural
fancy coloured diamonds, providing clients with unparalleled choice for
investment. Rare Gem Investor was one of only 17 successful bidders at the
2007 tender. This tender was Rare Gem Investor's most successful-the company
secured 7 of the stones that were offered. The inventory now includes three
natural fancy red coloured diamonds, the most rare and concentrated form of
wealth in the world. "It is because of this exclusive access that we are able
to provide our clients with mine-to-market colored diamonds, removing costly
middlemen and ensuring the highest return on investment" says Ferguson.
Since the 1970s, when natural fancy coloured diamond prices started to be
tracked, there has been no decline in value. On average the annual
appreciation has been between 10 and 15 percent, with the more rare and
coveted colours, like red, purple, pink and blue seeing even higher returns.
Increasing demand on the jewelry retail side of the industry has led to
increasing shifts in supply and demand, making natural fancy coloured diamonds
increasingly rare and sought-after, both for jewelry and investment purposes.
Given current mine supply and gem rarity of approximately one carat of natural
fancy diamonds for every 10,000 carats of colourless (formally white) diamonds
mined, of that approximately 5 percent are investment grade, this imbalance
will likely continue for decades. "In 2005 a mere 616 carats of investment
grade natural fancy coloured diamonds were found compared to 123,289,000
carats of colourless diamonds. Now is the time to invest in natural fancy
coloured diamonds" says Ferguson.
